1001 Outdoor Swimming Tips

1001 Outdoor Swimming Tips is Calum Maclean’s first book.
It is a huge collection of small tips to improve your outdoor swimming, whether you're a novice or experienced wild swimmer. Everything from biosecurity and safety to cold-water swimming, recovery, the essential gear you’ll need and training is covered.

Outdoor…wild…open-water..?

This book was written to help you become a wiser, better, more adventurous swimmer in the great outdoors. With a mixture of inspiration, straight-forward advice and some very specialist tips, it covers everything you need to know.

I personally don’t really care if you call yourself a wild swimmer, outdoor swimmer, open-water swimmer, just ‘swimmer’ or even if you’re someone who hasn’t yet taken the plunge.

Drawing on years of swimming adventures, making mistakes, learning from others, pushing my own boundaries and taking a quite obsessive approach to the activity at times, this book sums up much of what I’ve learned. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful too.

1001 Outdoor Swimming Tips sits as one of Vertebrate Publishing’s 1001 Tips series.
